Work placements and Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Students undertake work placements to enhance their work skills and employability. For many students, work placements are a prescribed part of their program or are required for professional accreditation. The commonly recognised term for this type of learning experience within a workplace environment is Work Integrated Learning or WIL.
RMIT student work placements or WIL can include:
- short-term project work and industry based research
- six or 12 month internships or cooperative placements
- voluntary placements
- industry projects
- clinical and professional placements.
