Client Computing

Client Computing is responsible for the management of all aspects of IT support to ensure service quality to end users. The team delivers high quality support services for:

  • Client computing
  • Personal computing devices
  • Student computing labs
  • Specialised software applications
  • Staff and student printing
  • Audio visual services

ICT Application Delivery

ICT Application Delivery is responsible for the development, support and maintenance of enterprise applications for the University. Activities include:

  • Functional and technical analysis and specification
  • Packaged Software configuration and customisation
  • Custom software development
  • Database management
  • Application performance tuning
  • Application portfolio management – planning, support, technical maintenance and functional enhancement
  • Application service delivery
  • Application architecture
  • Testing.

ICT Applications Delivery undertakes these activities both in projects lead by ICT Program Delivery and directly for support, maintenance and minor enhancement.

ICT Engagement and Planning is responsible for engaging with senior RMIT management to understand and implement business plans that support and introduce solutions for strategic issues that impact RMIT. This includes:

ICT Enterprise Architecture

ICT Enterprise Architecture is responsible for the planning, design and governance of University ICT systems. Activities include:

  • Strategic ICT Investment Planning
  • Portfolio analysis
  • Business capability and process analysis
  • Creation and maintenance of roadmaps and architecture models
  • Governance of ICT system design
  • Solution analysis and formulation to meet business needs
  • ICT risk assessments
  • Product evaluations and comparisons.

ICT Enterprise Architecture undertakes these activities both within and outside projects.

ICT Infrastructure Delivery

ICT Infrastructure Delivery is responsible for the operation, development and maintenance of computer systems, communications networks and administrative databases across the University, colleges, portfolios and schools.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Core network and internet access
  • Data and voice networks, telecommunications including wireless and telephony
  • Data centres
  • Infrastructure applications including email, file and print
  • Monitoring and maintenance of servers, data storage, mainframe and back-up systems
  • Infrastructure security management.

ITS Engagement Managers

Information technology Services (ITS) is focused on delivering good service to its customers – engaging and working with them to better understand what it is that they need from ITS. The engagement managers work closely with their respective customers to identify their requirements and develop solutions which meet their needs.
