University wide scholarships

University wide scholarships are open to all students across the University. 

• Australian Postgraduate Awards (APAs) For local doctoral or masters by research students, or commencing IPRS holders; a stipend of $27,653 per annum, fee-exempt place and other allowances and leave provisions; applications now closed for 2013.
• Chile Bicentennial Research Scholarship For Chilean research students; worth tuition, travel and study allowance; applications now open.
• DVC (R&I) PGR Student International Conference Grant For research students travelling to present at Conferences or workshops of International standing; worth up to $2000.
• European Union Centre RMIT Travel Assistance Grant The European Union centre at RMIT grants assist with travel costs for HDR candidates to travel to EU member states for the purposes of research; worth up to $6,000; applications currently open.
• Higher Degree by Research Publications Grant (HDRPG) For research students to financially assist to write publications after thesis/project submission; worth $27,653 annum pro rata; applications open March and August.
• International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) For international students starting a higher degree by research (masters or PhD); worth tuition fees and the cost of an Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of your program. Applications now closed
• PhD Scholarship in Economics For PhD candidates to join an ARC funded project; worth $27,653 per annum; applications close 2 June 2013.
• RMIT PhD and Masters Scholarship For local doctoral or masters by research students, a stipend of $27,653 per annum, fee-exempt place and other allowances and leave provisions; applications now closed for 2013.
• RMIT University International Research Scholarship (RUIRS) For international students offered a place in a higher degree research program at an Australian RMIT campus commencing in 2011; worth $23,427 per year for the duration of the program. Applications now closed
• Victoria India Doctoral Scholarships For international PhD research students; worth $30,000 per annum for three years. Applications now closed

• Information Security-Informatics (ISI) Research Group PhD Top-Up Scholarship For students pursuing postgraduate research with the ISI Research Group starting in 2013; worth $5000 per annum; applications now open.
• PhD Scholarships in Computer Science and IT For local or international students undertaking computer science and IT related PhD research; worth up to $25,000; applications close 30 June 2013.
• School of Computer Science and IT International PhD Scholarship For international students wishing to commence a PhD at the School of Computer Science and IT; worth tuition fees plus living costs of $24,000; applications now closed for 2013.

• Fixed-Wing Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) Grant For PhD students in receipt of an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) undertaking research in stability augmentation of fixed-wing MAVs; worth $5,000 per annum; applications now closed for 2013.
• Health Innovations Research Institute (HIRi) PhD Scholarship 2012 For students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in biomedical sciences starting in 2012; worth a grant of up to $5000 per annum; applications close 31 October 2011.
• Joint Research Engagement (JRE) Engineering Cadetship For local engineering research students to assist with research training placement costs; worth $5000 per annum; no application required.
• Lightweight Vehicle Structures Research Scholarship For PhD students wanting to undertake research in lightweight vehicle structures; worth $25,000 per annum; applications currently open.
• R.D. Gibson Grant For doctoral research students in receipt of an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA); worth $2500 per annum; applications now closed for 2013.
• School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Wind Noise Reduction Grant For PhD students in receipt of an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) undertaking research in wind noise reduction from automotive A-pillars; worth $5,000 per annum; applications now closed for 2013.
• School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Top-Up Research Scholarship For higher degree by research students at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, worth $12,000 per year; applications now closed for 2013.
